Caroline Youngblood – June 6th 2013
MAD Gallery welcomes our first featured visual artist, Caroline Youngblood. Slated to showcase new works in this solo exhibition, we are excited to start our tenure with such a high caliber artist. Scheduled for June 6th, 2013, at 130 Art Alley, Monroe LA.
Caroline will be showing selections from 2 new bodies of work with southern themes:
Cotton and Quilt Abstractions-
Cotton series is Cubist renderings of cotton seen from multiple viewpoints and magnifications. Many include collage from vintage Farm Bureau newspapers and hand written farm receipts.
My latest body of work is my Quilt series which is an assemblage of found objects including vintage company store receipts, quilting squares, and paint to create large, colorful abstractions by repeating elements found in Southern quilt patterns.
All Paintings will be available for purchase- ranging from large works on canvas to smaller works on paper.
